If your institution has recently implemented any major financial aid policy, program, or initiative to make your institution more affordable to incoming students such as replacing loans with grants, or waiving costs for families below a certain income level please provide details: The University instituted changes for the 2022-23 academic year intended to increase access and support families, include: - Expanded financial aid for students of families with incomes below $66,000. Families at this income level and with typical assets are not expected to contribute to the cost of a Columbia education. The previous threshold was $60,000. - Increased aid for students from middle income families, by increasing the income threshold at which tuition is fully covered in the aid package. Families with incomes up to $150,000 and with typical assets will attend Columbia tuition-free. - $2,000 to assist low-income students in start-up support for books, clothing or other personal expenses. - As a result, the University expects to award $200 million in scholarships and grants to undergraduates in the College and Engineering next year, where more than one-half of students receive financial assistance to attend Columbia. Are these policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic? ☐ Yes ☒ No The information provided is accurate and complete to the best of our knowledge, as derived from available records relied on by the University.Page 32 of 43 Common Data Set 2021-2022 September 9, 2022
