If your institution has recently implemented any major financial aid policy, program, or initiative to make your institution more affordable to incoming students such as replacing loans with grants, or waiving costs for families below a certain income level please provide details:Bowdoin announced January 2008 that it would eliminate loans for students receiving financial aid beginning in 2008- 09. To fully fund its financial aid program, including the conversion of student loans to grants, Bowdoin earmarked approximately $22 million, or 16% of its $140- million operating budget, in fiscal 2008- 09. For the typical student receiving financial aid, the grant support from the College increased by $4, 500. This policy is still being honored and is in effect for 2013-14. Common Data Set 2012- 2013
