To receive credit, student veterans must submit proof of eligibility to the Office of Admissions. Up to 12 hours of general elective credits may be awarded, as needed for the student’s degree plan. Proof of eligibility includes: •DD Form 214 showing 1 year active duty and an honorable discharge OR •Military orders OR •Disability discharge documentation AND •Documentation of high school completion (final high school transcript or General Educational Development certificate) Military transcripts are evaluated at the time of application and credit for military experience/training is awarded based on recommendations contained within the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services published by the American Council on Education (ACE). Texas A&M University will award KINE 198 and KINE 199 credit for completion of Basic Training if applicable to a student's degree plan. Potential consequences should be identified and understood before a request is submitted. If your institution has recently implemented any major financial aid policy, program, or initiative to make your institution more affordable to incoming students such as replacing loans with grants, or waiving costs for families below a certain income level please provide details:Texas A&M has recently expanded its National Scholars program. In addition to National Merit Semifinalists, National Merit Finalists and National Hispanic Scholars, we are pleased to offer funding to students receiving academic recognition from the College Board including: African American Recognition, Indigenous Recognition and Rural and Small Town Recognition. In-state students will receive $6,000 per year for four years, and Out-of-State students will receive $4,000 per year for four years. Because this is considered a competitive scholarship, Out-of-State students will additionally qualify for a Non-resident Tuition Waiver, as long as they maintain eligibility for the scholarship. These recognition programs are based on academic achievement, regardless of financial need. We are also increasing tuition support for families with income of $60,001 to $130,000 to assist in addressing affordability. Are these policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic? Yes x No
